Most payment gateways require you to pay around 3% of the purchased amount as a processing fee. This can make pricing difficult as a person paying with Credit Card would earn you 3% less than a person paying by check. In addition, most Credit Card payment gateways do not just apply a percent fee but have both a flat fee and a percentage fee. For example PayPal has a charge of $0.30 per transaction, along with 2.9% of the transaction amount.
In order to balance this out and make all payments equally profitable, we offer the option of including the 3% fee on the transactions made with Credit Card from your exhibitors. Event hub never takes any part of your transaction.
To enable this for your event follow these steps.
1. Proceed to "Edit Showcase Page" for the event
2. Select on the "Payment Settings" tab
3. Select the checkbox next to "Enable Credit Card Processing Fee" (Note this only shows up after you have chosen a Credit Payment method, it is not applicable to Check Payments.)
Your event will now display an additional estimated 3% on all orders to your exhibitors at checkout and increase the amount of the purchase by 3% if a Credit Card payment used as the payment method.
Special Note about Refunds Through PayPal: As of October 11, 2019, PayPal updated its Policies and Procedures and will not refund processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) when you refund an exhibitor through a PayPal payment gateway. If you have any questions about this, contact PayPal directly.
